Barbara van Lindt

Artistic Coordinator of Kaaitheater

Barbara Van Lindt is a Belgian arts professional, curator and dramaturg working across theatre, performance and dance. Since 2019, together with Agnès Quackels, she has been General and Artistic Coordinator of Kaaitheater in Brussels. There, she contributes to the organisation’s artistic direction, institutional development and public role under the title How to Be Many? This motto carries Kaaitheater’s long-term trajectory on inclusion, accessibility, co-ownership and the changing relationship between arts institutions and society. Within that broader framework, she initiated How to Be Many Mothers?, a programme line exploring mothering, care, kinship and feminist perspectives in relation to artistic practice and public discourse.

Before joining Kaaitheater, Barbara worked extensively in artist development, curation and higher arts education. She led workspaces for emerging artists in Antwerp (wpZimmer) and Amsterdam (Gasthuis), and worked as a programmer at Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels.

From 2009 to 2018, she was part of the leadership of DAS Theatre in Amsterdam, within the Academy of Theatre and Dance. There, she helped develop a feedback practice and learning culture that became a reference point in international arts education.

Barbara studied Philosophy and Theatre Studies. Across her different roles, she has remained committed to creating contexts where artistic practice, critical reflection and collective learning can intersect.
