Sergio Servellón Sosa studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He then obtained postgraduate degrees in Cultural Communication at the KUB and Cultural Management at the University of Antwerp.
Since 2005, he has been director of FeliX Art & Eco Museum, which he reoriented from a monographic to a thematic museum with a focus on Belgian modernism. Sergio is also a Board Member of the Network of European Museum Organisations since 2018. His doctoral research focuses on Belgian avant-garde art in the interwar period, with a particular emphasis on Constructivism, also known as “Pure Plasticism.” It examines how this idealistic movement, its later reappraisals, and historiographical distortions contribute to a better understanding of Belgian abstraction within a broader cultural and heritage context.
